Raute receives order of EUR 93 million to Finland
Raute Corporation has signed a contract worth EUR 93 million with Metsä Wood, part of Metsä Group, for the technology delivery of a new Kerto® LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) mill in Äänekoski, Finland. This order, being the biggest in Raute's history, is a proof of Raute's versatile expertise.
Metsä Wood is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of engineered wood products. Metsä Wood is building a new Kerto LVL mill in Äänekoski to increase its total Kerto LVL capacity by 50 percent. The mill’s annual production capacity is approximately 160,000 cubic meters and the production is expected to start in late 2026.
The order for Raute’s technology includes all main production processes from veneer peeling to LVL pressing. The lines are a complete solution compiled of the most modern automated R7-Series technologies. All lines are equipped with analyzers for grading and MillSIGHTS software for data capturing.
New position to support Raute's strategy and sustainability agenda
Satu Kaivonen started as ESG Manager
Ms. Satu Kaivonen started in the position as ESG Manager on November 6, 2023, having the responsibility to drive forward a more sustainable future for engineered wood products by executing Raute´s new ESG strategy and by developing a sustainability roadmap to generate value for all stakeholders.
Satu has 19 years of extensive experience working with multinational companies, from the heavy machinery industry (Konecranes) to the world of media and graphic industry (Sanoma) all the way to the ICT sector (CGI). She also acts as the chairperson for the Finnish Technology Industry´s Sustainability Working Group and for BusinessEurope´s Circular Economy Task Force. She has a strong background in i.e. strategic sustainability projects, ESG reporting and circular business models as well as in business ethics, responsible sourcing, and social responsibility such as community projects. Satu has a BBA degree in Environmental Management and a Master´s Degree in Communications Management.
